Join us for a community pot luck to celebrate Earth Day (April 13th) where we will be starting our garden beds, creating an art project together, and teaching easy techniques to start a garden this summer. This is a public event, however if you are not a teacher, associated with the school, a partner organization or company, or parent or guardian of a student at NGE or another SNAC partner school, being on our volunteer list is MANDATORY for attendance.

Time: 9am-12pm

Location: North Georgetown Elementary School (644 N Bedford Street, Georgetown DE)

What to bring: Please feel free to bring any extra personal items such as garden gloves, hat, sunscreen, kneeling pads for weeding, or personal tools. Lunch and water will be provided, we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle. 

What to wear: Clothes that can get dirty, warm layers that can be removed or added, hat, sunblock. Please wear the appropriate clothing to keep yourself warm during winter/early spring months.

What to expect:
9 am: SNAC Garden Executive Director will host a workshop to teach you how to prepare and seed garden beds for the spring season. We will demonstrate by preparing our garden beds in the SNAC Garden.

11-12pm: Potluck lunch to demonstrate healthy, easy recipes and ways to add more vegetables to your diet. Meals will be vegetarian and made from vegetables that we demonstrated planting in the workshop.
